Sooke is located in western Canada, near to the Pacific Ocean, on the southwest tip on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, approximately 25 miles, or 45 minutes by car, from the capital city, Victoria.

Airplane Travel

The two nearest airports are Vancouver International Airport and Victoria International Airport. After that, rental cars are a great way to get around. Busing is also feasible.

Ferries to Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island is serviced by two BC Ferries routes from mainland British Columbia: Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, and Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay). In addition, there are the Washington State Ferries and the Victoria Clipper from downtown Seattle to downtown Victoria. From there, rental cars or buses are the way to travel to your destination in Sooke.

Sooke is serviced by one bus route that runs from Western Exchange in the Westshore Communities. Buses regularly run from downtown Victoria and other southern Vancouver Island communities to Western Exchange. From the BC Ferries at Swartz Bay, take Bus 70 to downtown Victoria, then Bus 51 to Western Exchange, then Bus 61 Sooke. There is also an Express 61 Sooke right from downtown Victoria
