From 1991 to 1996 there was an almost a 20% increase in the population in the green area shown on the map. This is the area from Port Renfrew, Shirley, East Sooke and Sooke.

The 25 to 54 year age group represents the largest percentage of the population in the area, showing a robust work force potential.
