SOOKE B&B OPEN HOUSE TOUR 2003 & SOOKE B&B QUEST
April 12 & 13, 2003 ~
Time: 1 to 5 PM
Place: Sooke through to French Beach ... follow the blue and white balloons indicating all participating B&B’s.
Red & White Balloons indicate supporting businesses also.
Admission: FREE for Open House Tour of the 16 participating B&B’s.

Enjoy complimentary light refreshments. A $5 donation to the Park Watch Program will give you a chance at many excellent door prizes!
Prizes include:
* 16 - one night stays for two at all participating B&B's
* Whale Watching trip for two with Sooke Coastal Explorations
* Gift certificates for local restaurants.

For a $10 donation to Park Watch, you can join in the fun and take part in Sherlock's B&B Quest and also have a chance to win the B&B Super Sleuth Award - a very generous Super Host Gift Basket brimming with gifts from members of the Sooke B&B Association, plus a night for two at one of the participating B&B's and dinner for two at a local restaurant

Purpose: This 2-day tour is intended to showcase the Sooke B&B Association - featuring 16 of our member B&B's and Sooke Region tourism in general. It will also raise funds for the PARK WATCH Program, 2003. Of course, we also hope that participants will have lots of fun!

What is Park Watch Program?
Initiated 2 years ago by the B&B Association, Park Watch is a safety and security patrol established to assist and protect tourists and locals alike while visiting the parks and beaches of the Sooke Region, from East Sooke to Port Renfrew, with:
• trail information,
• first-aid assistance,
• parking lot security,
• emergency communication,
• safe-guarding of lost and found items
• protection from acts of vehicle theft and vandalism.

Date: Saturday & Sunday, April 12 & 13, 2003 .
Activites: In the morning - Sherlock’s Goal: That you enjoy a memorable, spring day or weekend in Sooke.
• Arrive in Sooke in the morning. Pick up a free B&B OPEN HOUSE TOUR map and purchase Sherlock’s B&B Quest Clue Sheets and enter for a door prize at the Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Info Centre (or at any of the participating B&B's after the Tour starts at 1.00 p.m.)

• Take the time to visit the Museum and historic Moss Cottage - it's well worth a visit.
• Check out Sooke Coastal Explorations high speed zodiac & learn all you ever wanted to know about local marine and bird life.
• Meet Gord Patterson at the Eagle-Eye Wilderness Company outdoor outfitters - Gord knows everything else "outdoors" about the Sooke area - fly fishing, salt water fishing, trekking, camping, wilderness areas, a veritable Aladin's Cave of Adventure & Fishing "stuff".
• Explore a small sample of the Sooke Art scene ... Visit the Sooke Fine Arts Gallery, the South Shore Gallery, and the Sooke Region Museum Gift Shop ... to name only a few, but you have to stay focused - there's a busy afternoon ahead! Midday:
• Enjoy lunch at ... the 17-Mile Pub, Mom’s Café, Sage Creek Tea House, Otter Point Bakery, Two Bean Café, Mulligan’s Bar & Grill , Country Cupboard, Mr. Submarine, etc. or pick up a picnic lunch and dine "al fresco" sitting on a log or a rock on the beach while watching the waves at Whiffin Spit Park, or at a picnic table in our new Harbour Park.

In the afternoon: 1 p.m. - On your marks, get set, GO!! Visit 16 of the Sooke B&B Associations unique B&B’s with their many unique locations, individual styles and generous hospitality. PS: All members of the Sooke B&B Association are Tourism BC approved.

Not bad for a lovely Spring visit to Sooke!
