post graduate courses as well.

Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto.
Where have you practised?
I have practised massage in Toronto, Victoria, Lake Cowichan
and Sooke.
When did you start in Sooke?
I started my massage practice here in 1986, moved to Lake Cowichan
for two years, and I am now back.
About Massage Therapy
Which conditions do you treat with massage therapy?
People with headaches, stiff necks, sore shoulders, backaches,
whiplash, stress and insomnia come for treatment.
What about relaxation massage?
I tailor-make each session for the individual. I can focus on
relaxation, treatment, or a combination.
Who comes for massage?
I see men and women. I treat all ages (and kids too!)
Do I need a doctor's referral?
I don't require a doctor's referral, but if you have an extended
medical plan, you may need a referral for coverage from it.
Can I get medical coverage?
Most extended medical plans will reimburse you a percentage
of the fee - check with your insurance provider for details.
How long is a session?
I offer 30 minute and 60 minute treatments.
Do I have to undress?
You will only need to undress the treatment area. You will undress
in private and lie between the sheets for the massage with only
the area I am working on at the time uncovered.
Does massage hurt?
I don't think massage should hurt. You may feel some soreness
after the first session, but this usually lasts only about a
day, then most people feel better than they did before the massage.
.What is the difference between massage therapy and physiotherapy?
Massage therapists do hand-on therapy and are not licensed to
use ultrasound, TENS, or other modalities. A massage therapist
sees only one patient at a time.
