The Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock
riders arrived in Sooke on
Wednesday September 29, 2004
As of October 4, 2004, last year the funds
raised in Sooke was $26,186.00
The day started with a Chili Cook-Off
The cooks were from local eating establishments: Sooke
River Castle, Mulligans, Buffy's Pub and Randy from Stone
Pipe Landing
Winner: Stone Pipe Landing!
Then there was a: Jail-A-Thon:

Judge Bob Clark with handcuffed defendant Lorna Barry pleading
her case.
|

<-- Defense person Janice Stanford argued
with the "Da Judge" for leniency to no avail!
Other "Jailees" were Don Chou, Marlene
Barry, and John Manley.
|
 |
 |
 |
<-- Pat Hudson was a rowdy "Jailee" and gave the
Judge a rough time.
|
Head Shave
Tony Morris (below), Sue Mitchell (right) had their
heads shaved
|
|

A local RCMP officer also had her head shaved.
There were many that got their heads shaved and the pile of hair
on the floor at the end was big enough to stuff a sofa! (Well,
almost) Another RCMP officer took to the road and collected donations
from passing motorists. --> |
|

When the riders arrived, cancer survivor Darren Forester spoke
about the use of the funds raised, and told about Camp Goodtimes.
|

Ralph Hull interviewed Clayton Rattan, a recent bone cancer
survivor
|
| It was an inspiring day, with much money raised. |
